Dumbo Open Studios: Elephant Art Shop: Art for Social & Environmental Action

Samantha Taylor, Artist and Founder of Elephant Art Shop, is thrilled to be participating in this year’s DUMBO Open Studios, Digital Art Event.

This virtual platform will give visitors the opportunity to participate and view the event from around the world, from the comfort and safety of your home. DUMBO Open Studios will feature more than 100 artists and art organizations from DUMBO and Vinegar Hill welcoming the public to view art and studios online. Thursday May 13- Sunday, May 23. 

Two Coats of Paint Marathon Art Conversation with DUMBO Artists and Arts Organizations 

Hosted by Two Coats of Paint and organized by Sharon Butler Thurs. May 13, 9:30 AM - 7 PM, Clubhouse. DUMBO artists and arts organizations will join Sharon Butler on Clubhouse to kick off the 2021 Dumbo Open Studios with a day-long conversation about art, exhibitions, and other arts issues and ideas. The Two Coats of Paint Clubhouse room will be open on the first day of DUMBO Open Studios from 10am to 6pm and various times throughout the ten-day event. Moderators include a lively crew of DUMBO regulars: Minus Space, Smack Mellon, AIR, Platform Project Space, Matthew Deleget, Alexi Worth, Laura Karetzky, Elizabeth Hazan, other artists working in the neighborhood. Clubhouse Drop-in Audio: May 13, 5-6 pm: Art for Social & Environmental Action: Samantha Taylor will discuss how art can inform and create dialogue about conservation, effect social change, and make our communities more equitable, both on the wall and on the move.

High Water Women: Investing for Impact Symposium: October 29, 2019

Excited to be participating as a speaker, among a diverse group of colleagues from foundations, investment management, academic, philanthropic, journalism and financial services professionals. I will be providing perspectives on a private wealth panel about the role of foundations, socially responsible investing to address key humanitarian and environmental challenges.

Private Wealth — Portfolio Construction:
While there is significant interest from private investors in impact, adoption has been slow. Reasons for this often include questions on how to deploy impact investments into an existing portfolio, how foundations and PRIs can be used, as well as how to create an investment policy that incorporates impact. This session will explore different ways in which private investors have tackled these issues.
